In July 2019 we successfully settled an action brought by a middle aged woman who sustained very serious life altering injuries caused by incompetently performed abdominal surgery in June 2012. As a result of surgical errors and poor post- operative care, the patient sustained significant bowel and bladder injuries which were incompetently treated leading to life altering injuries including bladder damage, chronic pain and significant loss of mobility.
The case was ultimately successfully settled for its full value on the eve of the Trial not withstanding an attempt made by the Defendant to argue in its defence that the case was statute barred. In addition to the compensation, we secured an apology from the doctor and the hospital for their failings in care.
